Welcome to the 2008
CFC Sacramento Application Season!
Thank you for your interest in participating in the combined federal campaign workplace giving program. If your application is successful, you will join 2000+ charities that are eligible to get designated gifts from Federal employees in the Fall 2008 charity campaign.
Please review the applications VERY CLOSELY:
2008 Federation Application and Checklist (Combined in one PDF Document)
2008 Local Independent Organizations and Federation Members and Checklist (Combined in one PDF Document)
In November, the Office of Personnel Management published new rules which affect eligibility. Many of these changes will make it easier for some charities to qualify. However, some of the changes do require new information and documents that detail the services you provide and other required information.
Some of the biggest changes you will notice are:
- The 25 percent ceiling on charity overhead has been eliminated. CFC Sacramento will continue to publish the overhead of all approved charities.
- The 80 percent ceiling on your percent of government funding also has been eliminated.
- OPM is conducting greater scrutiny to validate EIN numbers, especially those from organizations claiming a group exemption under a headquarters or parent organization.
- All charities will get new five-digit, randomly generated codes assigned by OPM.
- All federal and local independent charities in CFC Sacramento are required to submit their organizational data and 25 word statement spread sheet on a disc.
Good luck with your application. We look forward to working with you in 2008.
Sincerely,
Michelle Walker
Executive Director
